We caught up with community partners
@atmosenergy and @HappyStateBank today
as they delivered box after box of school
supplies for KidsFest On the Move. Just five
days until school starts and our campuses are
ready, thanks to our supportive community!

Halloween mad scientists

It’s Halloween and
student scientists
have gone mad
learning all kinds of
cool facts about
tea…from how the
leaves are infused
into the water, to
how sugar cubes
dissolve to sweeten
it and that there are
thousands of
varieties of tea, but
they all come from
the same plant!

The pitch! Amarillo ISD
Gifted and Talented
scholars from Bonham
Middle School and de
Zavala Middle School
walk through the
towering doors of
Amarillo City Hall with
big plans tucked under
their arms. The group
was invited to present
proposals for transporta-
tion and recreation
improvements to the
Amarillo City Council.

The first day of school is a big deal, but the
first day of Kindergarten is a really big deal!
So, we caught up with Calvin, a cool
kindergartner who let our camera document
his very important day—from drop-off to
pick-up.

Art students at Caprock High School meticulously
pieced together this tape art installation. The artwork is
constructed entirely of tape. The art is inspired by the
“Say Something” campaign, an effort to educate
students about appropriate ways to reach out for help
and to encourage healthy conversations and actions
that promote inclusion, caring and kindness.

Have you heard about Tascosa High’s Talon Lewis?
Talon, a senior, received the 2018 Congressional Award
Gold Medal. This is the highest honor Congress
bestows to youth civilians. Medalists spend a
minimum of two years logging hundreds of hours
across four program areas, including voluntary public
service, personal development, physical fitness and
expedition/exploration. Talon is pictured second from
left in the photo below.
